Biography

Thomas Vieira’s music is an expression of the ineffable — edgy yet educated, dangerous yet playful, unpredictable yet consistent. He has been writing and performing music since he was 8 years old, beginning with percussion and piano. He studied composition privately as the last student of Yakov Gubanov, international composer, pianist, and lecturer, who was himself the last student of Dmitri Shostakovich.

Thomas has worked in diverse genres ranging from Afro-Caribbean to hip hop, death metal to deep house, but Western classical will always be his first love. With a unique compositional voice within the vocabulary of contemporary classical, he seeks to inspire and bring people together with his immersive musical works.
